Feb 23 (Sunday): Create/Connect Art Social

 NSU Art Museum, second floor

1 E. Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

Welcome to an informal get-together to color, make art, and have conversations with other artists and creative people who care about envisioning and co-creating an ecologically balanced, inclusive and just world where all can thrive. This is unstructured, not a class, not goal-oriented. We are opening a creative space to connect in a relaxing, fun way with no pressure.

We'll provide some basic art supplies and coloring pages. Bring your own project if desired (dry media only; no paint) -- such as drawing, collage, knitting, embroidery. If you have spare art materials, you can bring them to share or offer them (and/or pick some up) at the Art Supplies Swap Cart.

This month, participants will also have the opportunity to contribute to a Memory Quilt project coordinated by artist Kristin Beck.

Everyone will have a chance (optional!) to introduce themselves and talk about what you're working on and/or thinking about, or whatever you'd like to share about yourself.

PLEASE register on Eventbrite if you are coming (but only if you are actually coming); and if you cancel, please update your status on Eventbrite. This will help us set up the right number of tables and chairs. Thanks!

This event occurs during the museum's monthly "Free Fort Lauderdale Neighbor Day," so anyone with a Fort Lauderdale ID or utility bill gets free admission to this event (plus the museum's exhibits afterward). For anyone who'd like to attend this event who doesn't live in Fort Lauderdale, please let us know if you'd like assistance with the museum's entry fee ($16), and we'll have a voluntary collection point to try to share the pain.

Paid parking is along the street and in the library garage next door.
